켄트대학교는 1965년에 설립된 대학교다. 영국을 비롯해서 브리쉘과 파리 'Postgraduate 센터'를 가지고 있다. 유럽 전역에 걸쳐 수준 높은 교육을 제공하고 있고 영국 내 우수대학이다. 2008년, 영국연구결과를 평가하는 RAE에서 118기관 중 24위에 랭킹되었다. 또한, 2012년 타임즈에서 실시한 세계 교육열이 높은 대학교에서 80위를 차지했다. 인기학과로는 영화제작, 역사, 철학, 경영학 등이 있으며 특히, 영화관련 학과는 '2013 Times'와 'Guardian'순위에서 각각 영국 내 11위, 13위를 기록할 정도로 우수한 평가를 받고 있다. 이론 뿐만 아니라 영화제작, 연구 활동 등 다양한 실습 교육을 통한 수준 높은 교육을 제공하여 학생들의 만족도가 높다. 또한, 역사학과 철학과 역시 영국대학 전공 순위 기록에서 20위 안에 속할 정도로 우수한 평가를 받고 있다.
